- How much is the Asakusa go-kart tour?
- The Asakusa Grand Prix costs ¥20,000 per driver (tax included). During the grand-opening offer it is ¥10,000 for daytime departures and ¥15,000 for evening departures. One kart per driver; kart, helmet, guide and a free 20-second video are included.
- How long is the tour and what is the route?
- About 60 minutes (around 48 minutes of driving plus photo stops) on a 10.9 km guided street circuit with 16 corners: from Asakusa past Kaminarimon, Kappabashi, Ueno and Akihabara, then back along the Sumida River with a view of Tokyo Skytree.
- Where is it and when does it run?
- APEX-KART is at WPS Asakusa Bldg. 1F, 5-3-1 Asakusa, Taito-ku, Tokyo, a short walk north of Sensō-ji Temple. Tours depart daily from 12:00 to 21:00. Book online at apex-kart.com/book.
- Who can drive? Do I need a licence?
- Drivers must be 18 or older. Bring your original Japanese driving licence, or a 1949 Geneva Convention International Driving Permit together with your home licence and passport. Drivers from Taiwan, Germany, France, Switzerland, Belgium and Monaco can use their home licence with an official Japanese translation. Licences from mainland China cannot be used.
- What is included, and what if the kart is damaged?
- Included: a single-seat electric kart, helmet, racing suit (optional), guide, insurance and a free 20-second video for every driver. For damage caused by ordinary negligence the driver pays the actual repair cost, up to ¥50,000 per kart per accident; there is no cap for intentional damage or gross negligence.
- Can I cancel or change my booking?
- Cancellation is free up to 48 hours before the start time. After that, for no-shows, or for missing licence documents, the fee is not refundable. We do not run in heavy rain or storms and refund in full if we cancel.
